Motorola W230
Almost identical in terms of features to the Motorola W270 clamshell, the Motorola W230 is a very lightweight but basic phone with surprisingly good music playback capabilities.
Boasting an MP3 player and microSD expandable memory (up to 2GB), the W230 also comes with an FM radio. The other features are few and far between - there's no camera, the display is a very basic 128 x 128 pixel CSTN panel and the W230 lacks Bluetooth. However, the phone weighs in at only 80 grams, yet it has 9 hours maximum talktime.
We don't think that this phone is as stylish as the W270, but it is probably a little easier to use as a music player because of the simple monoblock design.
Motorola describe the colour combinations as "licorice outlined in lustrous silver and dark titanium gray bordered in mandarin" - i.e. silver and orange. No pricing details have been given, but this is likely to be a very inexpensive device. Motorola say that the W270 should be available during Q1 2008.
